“Album Of The Day” is a Last Rites Facebook feature we started with a very straight-forward purpose: highlight one album per day, and say a few words about it. Understanding that not everyone chooses to participate in the booking of faces, we thought it might be nice to toss in a feature that gathers the albums in a single piece on a weekly basis.
Here are the seven albums we picked for the week of September 15th — September 21st // HAIKU EDITION
Sunday, September 15th
Mekong Delta – Mekong Delta (1987)
German prog-thrash kings,
oodles of intricate riffs,
Mussorgsky cover.
Monday, September 16th
Deicide – Legion (1992)
Brutal, twitchy, blunt
Maniacal maze of riffs
Deathly evil fun
Tuesday, September 17th
Judas Priest – Unleashed In The East (1979)
Mostly live album
turns 40 today. Behold:
Victim Of Changes!
Wednesday, September 18th
Tiamat – Judas Christ (2002)
The world would be great
If when we went out to vote
We voted for love
Thursday, September 19th
Flotsam & Jetsam – Doomsday For The Deceiver (1986)
Arizona thrash,
melodic and kick-ass with
Newsted on the bass.
Friday, September 20th
Accept – Breaker (1981)
First Accept classic
Follow the “Starlight” to riffs
You son of a bitch
Saturday, September 21st
Rush – Clockwork Angels (2012)
Sprawling and winding
Rush at their damn heaviest
A golden finish
